Confessions of a Mass Murderer

I have a confession to make. I'm a mass murderer. Every morning I awake with a desire to wipe out as many as I can. I have thousands on my record. This is beginning to be a little bit of a problem, I think. Not only have I murdered, but I have taught my children as well, and "Kill it!" is a common command in our house. The youngest is a little too young to be in on it yet, but basically the rest of our family is guilty. And yes, the victims are ants. Many, many ants have been killed--in our kitchen mostly, but wherever we find them, we gleefully squish, stomp, or smear as many as we can. The hubby has poisoned outside, we have cleaned inside, and still they come. I guess our next step is to hire a professional; hopefully they will accomplish what our futile murdering spree has not, and hopefully too, our children will not be permanently scarred by our murderous rampages.
The above is a guest post from myself. (He he) I posted this on April 15, 2009 on our family blog before we started a year with Terminix. After our year was over (May, 2010) the ants returned en masse! So at this very moment Terminix is here again (We're pretty slow to learn our lesson! You'd think after a year still seeing ants we'd look for someone new, but they persuaded us that this ant bomb will take care of them.) At some points, I wouldn't mind just blowing up the house, erm, I mean, I hope it just kills all the ants!

  1. Oh, for your sake, I hope this time it works. We've had ant infestations at work...they come in for the water....and creep me out. And yes, I too am a mass murderer. At home I'm called from a deep sleep to kill spiders. I hate my job!

  2. LOL1 Your blog title really had me wondering what in the heck the post was going to be about. :)

I am actually sitting here waiting for the pest guy to come over and give us a quote to tent our house.

    I will confess..I'm a serious ant hater. :)

  5. Too funny...GUESS what works and is safe for your kiddos...CREAM O'WHEAT...that's right! Simply sprinkle it around your foundation and window wells and they pick it up, take it back to the nest, eat it AND they can't digest it! So basically it blows up in their system and kills them...I believe it might be a slow and painful death if you can live with it :D
Hope this helps...of course the terminex people won't tell you this little secret...but I always had my suspicions when I saw the termite exterminators throwing down a POWDERED substance near my foundation...probably was paying hundreds of dollars for Cream O'Wheat all those years. Have a great day, Roberta

  6. Too funny! I hate Ants, they just get everywhere and are almost impossible to get rid of unless you hire someone to come out. Why is that, why can't they just sell that stuff at Home Depot and not sell the junk that doesn't work??? Sorry, I was thinking out loud. HaHa! Thanks for checking out my blog and your comment on my son's WW pics. Hope you visit again.

  10. I totally understand! We get ants absolutely everywhere. Heaven forbid I should forget to rinse the dinner dishes before bed because by the morning the army will invaded them and each tiny crumb is covered in a mountain of ants fighting for their feast! We have pest control come once a month as well but sadly we have been told its just a part of life on Guam, so deal with it!
