Play Dough Cars

Peanut Butter Play Dough = Inventing Cars
(whew! that was hard to do in 6 words!)
I'm teaching a little homeschool group (we call it Castle School) and this semester's theme is "inventions." I'm trying to stick with inventions that directly affect my K-1st graders (like legos and crayons). Last week's lesson talked about calculators, pianos, puzzles, and cars. At one point I gave the kids peanut butter play dough, crackers, marshmallows, cheerios, yogurt covered raisins, and toothpicks. They were allowed to "invent" a car. And, as soon as I took pictures, they got to eat them! Instructive and yummy!
I've linked to Six Word Saturday (and you should too)!

  1. Six-word reply:

A gooey invention you can eat!

  2. It must be time for lunch because those peanut butter/marshmallow cars are making my stomach growl! :)

  3. What a fun project! And a great 6WS too! Have a great weekend!

  4. I'm going to have to do this project! My little ones will love to play with this dough.

Thanks for sharing...and WOW on the six words!

  5. That is so cool! Food art always impresses me :)

  6. Great Idea...I have a home daycare as well and this would be a fun and tasty thing to do with the little ones. Is there any chance you could post the recipe for the peanut butter play dough. You could link it with my blog on Tuesdays when I host WHATS ON YOUR PLATE TUESDAY! at:
