The Boy's Eye For Art

The (4yo) boy picked this ad up a few days ago in the store. He told me a little bit about the colors and the squares in the store, but I was distracted and wondered why he cared to bring the ad home. It didn't take long to figure it out, though, because he went straight for the crayons and paper and began to copy the ad.
Where others might see just stuff on sale, he saw colors and shapes that intrigued him as an artist. If you look closely, you can see that the yellow part does have separate squares and that he filled in between with yellow as well. And look at the right side of his page; he colored each jelly bean in the correct color order.
I shouldn't be so amazed when I see the creator God reflected in my children, but I am, and I love it. May God use my son's gifts for His Kingdom and His glory!

  1. Doesn't it just make your "mama-heart" swell with love and pride? I love the unique gifts he's given each of us and it's a gift to us parents watching them come alive in our children. I have an artist, too, and love watching her put colors (especially in her clothing) together.

  5. I have an artist daughter who notices the same sorts of things. It's awesome to see how that talent grows over time, and even more when they start finding out how God wants them to use it!
