It's the Little Things

When the world iced over this past weekend, I couldn't help myself from taking lots of close-ups of the beautiful details. God is such a Master Artist. Every single branch,
every single leaf,
every single berry had its own decoration.
It is mind-blowing what detail our Lord took in creating the beauty that was around us for mere days. The blanket of snow was beautiful, but it was the ice creations that made the world so stunningly breathtaking when the sun came out.
I pray for this kind of attention to the little things in my parenting. The scrape that hurts when my boy puts on his shoes, the frustration my oldest feels when she gets something wrong, the helplessness of my youngest when she can't go everywhere her siblings go--help me to deal with these little moments as our Lord dealt with each leaf and twig in the ice storm. Let me wrap them in beauty and know that they are passing, fleeting even. And oh, Lord, let me enjoy the little things!
Don't forget, every comment this week will be counted toward the SAHM Survival Pack giveaway!! (See the left sidebar for more details.)

  3. That is so beautiful! It was amazing as I drove to church Sunday morning with all the trees like that! The sun was shining off of them, and they looked like crystal trees! I love how amazing the Lord is!

  4. What a great Wordless Wednesday post. I love ice storms, only because of the beauty that's left behind. (Forget the power outages! lol) I have a number of ice storm photos and like you, I marvel at how great of an artist our Father truly is!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I'll have Mr. Linky up each Wednesday so feel free to come back and link-up! Have a blessed day.

  9. WOW! This was such an inspiring post. You are absolutely right. If I was to take a step back and enjoy all the small details of my life I would be a much better person. I would stop wanting the next new thing and just enjoy what I have. I would love to be able to do this with my kids when we are in the middle of homework. I love to watch them learn, but sometimes getting them to do the work to get them where they need to be is difficult. If I could just look at the beauty in the details I think it wouldn't be a fight.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and your beautiful pictures. God truly is the greatest artist that has ever been. I love to watch his canvas change every single day.
