Homemade Gifts Post #1

This past Christmas our family noticed something. Gifts are expensive! Perhaps you noticed too. After Christmas I ran across a few bloggers who mentioned either making all of their Christmas gifts and/or getting most of them for free with coupons or from giveaways.
What if I gathered gifts throughout the year both with coupons and by making them and didn't have a huge dent in the budget come November/December?
This idea has been floating around in my head long enough for me to begin collecting websites with good ideas. So, if you're on my Christmas list, don't look to closely at this post. : ) But if not, maybe you leave some great gift ideas in the comments. I would very much appreciate it!
Here's what I've found so far:
What do you think and what would you add?

  1. Yes! Someone gave me a homemade sugar scrub and I loved it so much, I made it again when I ran out of it. It was the BEST scrub I've ever used and so, so simple. Great idea!

  3. I love these ideas! I can't wait to try the brown sugar scrub and the lotion bars.

Wait, for gifts? Oh, I guess they would work for those, too!

  4. I've been doing home-made gifts this year and have found it even more rewarding than I imagined. I post on most Saturdays on what I have made that week if you need ideas!
