Relaxation--SAHM Survival Pack

In my first SAHM Survival Pack post, a friend left the comment "C.O.F.F.E.E." because she knows I'm not a coffee drinker. I'm glad she did! I might have forgotten the whole need for relaxation altogether.
We moms need relaxation to survive. We do. It's a fact. And a lot of women get that relaxation from a wonderful cup of coffee. My relaxation comes from tea or a warm treat (brownie, anyone?) or a book or just some quiet thinking time.
So, to include relaxation (and coffee!) in the SAHM Survival Pack, I'm putting in a $5 gift card to Starbucks.
So far the pack includes baggies (stay tuned for several other household odds and ends), band aids, Tums, Tylenol, Benadryl, Neosporin, (these may be generic), a thermometer, grape fruit seed crush, kids' vitamins, Spirulina (see the Medicine Cabinet), and a $5 gift card to Starbucks.
Remember that this giveaway is scheduled for the week of February 1st through 5th. I will post a few more Survival Pack posts, and as long as you are a follower of Of Such is the Kingdom, any and every comment that you leave will be counted as an entry for the giveaway. (As long as you are a follower, you can leave unlimited comments!) I would love it if your comments left me more ideas for what a SAHM can't live without. Thanks!

  1. Cool! =) Need I say I love coffee?

  2. Awesome! I could use some relaxation. :)

  3. I am a new follower and I love the idea of a survival kit, one thing to add would be bubble bath and a good romance novel and candles.

  4. i've been thinking and thinking about this. what would i add besides coffee? i just asked my hubby the other night if it was pathetic that every night i look forward to the coffee i'll be having 12 hours later. he said, "welcome to adulthood." =D

i think i would have to add that i have to have an easy, non-intrusive way to be in touch with my hubby while he's at work. whether it's texting, emailing, or instant messaging. and yes we talk on the phone usually once during the day, but i wouldn't call him to just to say, "pray for me, the two y/o is pitching a fit", or "i miss you," etc. it gives us a way to keep in touch more frequently w/o disturbing his office and i don't feel quite as alone as a parent during his work hours. of course, i don't think you can really add this to your give away.... =D

the other thing would be a BIG jug of water. i don't know about you other moms, but i can go forever being crazy thirsty and not take or find the time to go grab a glass of h2o. so i try to "fill 'er up" a couple times a day and it really helps me!

    that's my 2 cents. =D

  5. Oh bring it on; I love this idea! :)

  6. This is a great idea!! I would so include an egg timer...I use mine all the time...to speed clean -- just set time for 15-30 minutes-- grab a laundry basket and clear you house of clutter...you would be surprised what you can accomplish when timed...then set it again for 15 min...don't do anything for 15 min other than what you want...could be filing your nails, read blogs, check e-mail or have a cup of coffee...

then repeat...by the end of the day-- you have accomplished a lot!
